Feminism - The new trend

I really wanted to write in this topic for a long time because while writing something, no one objects you or talks inbetween. :p You are at ease to finish expressing everything and then give it to people. Thats much better than two people talking at the same time just like the debates in news channels these days!!

This is not a post about delhi rape or how men should learn how to treat women. There are hundreds of articles about it. I have talked all my life about it and there is nothing new to be told. So please read those articles to get a clear idea.

Here it starts : One of the hot topics these days is Feminism!! Or to put it lightly, Women empowerment. Why I call it hot is because, if you are a feminist, then you are the trendy bold girl of this generation!! (or we say "bharathi kanda pudhumai penn").  It has become a trend with women to project themselves as feminists  just like men calling themselves Thala fan( If he is a good person, give him a nobel prize. But if he is an actor, he should act right? ) or suddenly enjoying football. (We know you have only played goli gundu or road side cricket with a plastic ball all your life!So stop showing off!)

First of all, I personally feel that feminism is an emotion thats buried deep within a girl since childhood. Right from when she started feeling left out seeing a group of guys playing on the street or when she hears the pulichu pona "pugundhaathuku pona enna pana poriyo?' for every shit mistake she does out of innocence. It’s the feeling of a butterfly trying to burst out of its pupa. From getting pampered and being escorted to every place she goes to people deciding how to live her life! The feeling of  not being treated like a GIRL but like a normal person- thats the basic thought  behind feminism. Because, whoever treats you like a girl and reminds you of your gender constantly , is definitely not treating you normal! Please avoid such people. Feminism is not wanting to be projected very special just because you are girl. Its not something to take advantage of using your gender but to be an advantage to the society! Its a deep and long felt yearning to be treated normal and not be looked down by people. Its the long felt desire to finally achieve the freedom to ride a bike at midnight or go to space or anything that a human being can do and enjoy in this world. When you are objected  from doing something you enjoy "just because you are a girl" and for no other reason, you have all rights to fight for it or go the easy way (just ignore them). That is feminism! That is something to be proud of and to teach other innocent girls who are still out there controlled and preached with false beliefs by the society.

But the sad part is, though a surprisingly large, logical part of the y-chromosome is ready to accept and support feminism, it the other gender's large part thats ruining its cause. Feminism nowadays is not wanting equal opportunities, but dominance over men! Seriously? You want to slowly go to stage of  dominating men as a revenge for the sufferings you went through and then want them to create something called Menism?(sry the word sounds funny :P). Every thing towards women is an issue these days. You drive insanely and bang on to someone’s car and they scold you and you react by placing a complaint that he insulted you! OMG.  Please quit all the drama! You want to be treated special? You want all the attention? Then stop trying to get it by blaming men. Please go home, do something you like, do it sincerely! You will get the required attention automatically. There are many guys out there wanting to be your true friend and admire you for what you are. So stop looking at men who dont want your friendship but something else. Ignore them instead of focusing on everything they do and then complaining all men are bad!

I know you are the girl who created the rumour that girl_1 is dating boy_1 and they did something-something just because you saw her going with him in a bike someday. Now you go out with a guy(your friend)  at night and say that its friendship and its your rightsl! Hahaha! You don’t want to see a girl wearing a tight Tee and when she does, you ill-comment on her character to all the people you know! But when some Tee girl is shown as being harrased on a youtube video, you share it and comment “Its not the dress! Its your eyes”. What about your eyes lady?!

This is not a post against girls and DEFINITELY not a post supporting men and their activities! Its just my accumualted rage that because of a few attention seeking or following-the -trend type of girls who are constantly bringing up totally worthless so-called feminist issues to the public(fake-feminists to put it simply), the real feminists who sacrifice their own normal lives and struggle for the future gen to have it the normal way, are looked down by the society and mistaken. Even the men who really want to help bring up the standard of living for the opposite sex and admire feminists,  have started to develop some kind of aversion towards them because of all these fake drama!!

Recently a heroine's video was shared on a social site by a popular news network and it became such an issue! She showcased herself as a very bold person to write a long note to the offenders and the funny part was that the note was more offensive than the video comment! You are an actress and you are proud to show off your body for the totally unneccesary reasons on-screen! Ok, its your job ! But its not a part of your  job to appear in public events that way. But you do! Why? Cause you want photographs to be taken and you want to be looked at. You want to get million Youtube views for it. But you just dont want someone to describe it, huh??! What an irony! There is no law in this country, as to how you should dress. Same way, there is no law that people should not comment about it. Am not justifying that video post was right. But creating such an issue over it seems purely illogical.

All I am saying is, Feminists want equality. Not dominance. If you want the latter, please dont call yourself as one!

P.S:
To all the men who say ‘Men are dogs, you need to behave properly’,
“Stop beings dogs or Go to hell !!” Because, however I behave, a dog’s tail cannot straightened!

Thanks for reading . Comments are welcome! :)

    1. Feminism is not like terrorism to control things by issuing security to people. It should be brought up inside homes all over the country, within every individual. That way, we can see a whole change.

  2. Nicely written! And the finishing line, sums it up!

  3. alli raajjiyam kondu vara muyandraal thaan arai raajjiyamaavadu kidaikkum pengaluku endra nilai... Too much media-centric.. Only if something big happens, the society and the media is responding and showing off protests.. But equality cannot be applied like a 'patch' upon this society. It has to be GROWN. From the root level. Right from the moment when a parent reacts oneway for a boy and another way for a girl child they have given birth to.

    1. Exactly. Standing up for silly issues isn't gonna change anything!

  4. Feminism is a good thing but i have seen some women twist it for their own purpose. Using feminism as tool for selfish and insignificant perks and taking advantage of the system on their side is plain wrong. If someone slaps you, you slap them back instead of bringing down the whole men community. You hit the nail on the head with your writing.

    1. Instead of being bold, they win the situation with weakness and sympathy. Which is what am totally against.

  5. Well said...the sole problem for all these worthless issues is the narrow mindedness. Some make fun of others' behaviour or culture forgetting the fact whether they can defend their own..
